reprint, but this appears to be a ghost. Bentley’s plates were purchased<br />

by Ward & Lock in Feb 1856 and used for separate edns <strong>of</strong><br />

Headlong Hall and Nightmare Abbey, 1856 (below), and Maid<br />

Marian and Crotchet Castle, 1856 (below), as well as an edn <strong>of</strong> all 4<br />

novels, listed in Athenaeum, 7 Aug 1858 (no known copies).<br />
