acts, 1812. James and Horace contributed to the short-lived periodical, <strong>The</strong><br />

Pic Nic (ed W. Combe), Monthly Mirror, NMM 1821–49 and London<br />

Mag. Horace wrote prefaces for plays in Bell’s British <strong>The</strong>atre ser, as well as<br />

lyrics for comic musicals.<br />
