Nowadays, the books that, before 1989, people fought for in bookstores, because of
the “lizards” sneaked into the texts are increasingly rarely read. Despite these fears, a
library containing the forbidden works during communism would be useful, even if we
won’t know soon how many such volumes were really depurated.
As regards the censorship in libraries, it often remains clandestine, difficult to
reconstruct by historians, in all likelihood a perfect murder.
