6 villages (Viştea de Jos, Noul Român, Sărata, Arpaşu de Jos, Ucea de Sus,
Ucea de Sus, Viştea de Sus) had between 91 and 111 households of 3-5 ha.
Purcentage per village: between 38.72 % and 36.51 %;
2 villages (Colun, Ucea de Jos) had 68, 77 households of 3-5 ha;
7 villages had between 10 and 48 households of 3-5 ha;
Purcentage per district – 32.44 %.
5-10 ha:
6 villages (Grânari, Porumbacu de Jos, Noul Român, Ucea de Sus, Viştea de
Jos, Viştea de Sus) had between 26 and 34, households of 5-10 ha;
12 villages had between 2 and 17 households of 5-10 ha;
Purcentage per district – 6.32 %.
10-15 ha:
1 village (Noul Român) had 1 household of 10-15 ha;
Purcentage per village: 0.45 %.
15-20 ha:
1 village (Noul Român) had 1 household of 15-20 ha.
Purcentage per village : 0.45 %.
30-40 ha:
1 village (Arpaşu de Jos) had 1 household of 30-40 ha.
Purcentage per village – 0.36 %.
Having a different estate structure – there is no distinct registration of the estates of 0
ha, being only included in the category of 0-1 ha, and those having a surface of 1-3 ha,
being divided in the categories of 1-2 ha and respectively 2-3 ha, we intended to adapt our
study to the categories existing in Fagaras district.
Arpaşu de Jos district has in a large proportion households of 1-3 ha –2213,
representing 56.26%. Householdings of 3-5 ha – 1366, representing 32.44%, and those of
5-10 ha represented 6.32%.
The comparison between the two districts show the great number of small
householdings in Arpasu district and the great number of medium householdings in
Fagaras district (Table 2).
We do not possess any information related to the several large estates in the former
Fagaras County, estates supressed by the Agrarian Reform from 1945 and the Decree
83/1949 [5].
