Remembrance in Time
In 1946, the objective was different. Winning the election meant the legitimization of
the Communist Party’s program, which aimed to sovietise the country. Falsification of
results reached in 1946 its maximum level which represents a unique situation after 1859.
With minor exceptions, none of the promises included in the Program-Platform of the
B.P.D. was observed. Moreover, the political class that had been formed by 1939 was
completely destroyed juridically and physically and in several years, the entire political
class disappeared – it was arrested, deported and outlawed together with its parties.
The 1946 elections have opened the way for the annihilation of the Romanian
traditional society of European type and for its forced positioning into the Soviet patterns
and separation from the normal progress of the other European countries.
