i From 1958 to 1962 was secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party
ii The word "syunnet" primarily means the principles, rules and instructions of Mohammed, hence
the tradition to circumcise boys is also called syunnet.
iii Under the laws of the Assyrian slave state which existed 3000 years ago, a special law absolutely
forbade women to walk in public with uncovered faces. A similar case existed in ancient Persia.
But there it was connected with Zoroastrianism - an ancient religion, in which played a large
role the worship of fire. The woman was determined to keep away not to blow out the fire in the
divine fireplace. To avoid contamination with her "unclean," "unworthy" breath the Fire God,
she had to close her mouth and part of her nose with a special headscarf [8].
