Na globalidade, os resultados parecem não apontar todos na mesma direcção. Daqui
depreende-se que a variabilidade da AF está dependente para além dos factores genéticos,
do envolvimento das próprias famílias.

ABSTRACT
This study aimed to update the available knowledge about the familial aggregation of
physical activity (PA) levels.
Researches in the following electronic databases where conducted: DOAJ, OAIster, SciElo,
BioMed, ERIC, PubMed, SportDiscus and Web of Science. Experimental works
in children (6-11 years) and/or adolescents (12-18 years) on familial aggregation in the PA
levels, published between 2000 and 2010 where the main inclusion criteria. The keywords
used where: parents, physical activity, familial aggregation, familial resemblance, parental
influence, heritability and correlates.
The association between children’s and parents’ PA is still a wide open field of investigation.
Although some studies didn’t find any association, others reinforce these associations
concerning the parents and children’s gender. Various studies point to the fact that girls’ PA
is more related to their mothers’ PA, same happens with the boys’ PA, although with less
expressivity, is more related to the fathers’ PA.
