Infantis, Iniciados e Juvenis.<br />

Com este estudo preten<strong>de</strong>-se caracterizar e avaliar a participação dos jovens no Futebol,<br />

bem como perceber o pensamento dos treinadores em relação à participação <strong>de</strong>sportiva dos<br />

jovens e à estruturação dos quadros competitivos.<br />

Abstract<br />

Soccer is a sport practiced by most young people in Ma<strong>de</strong>ira. Despite the large participation<br />

of young people in football there are no studies that evaluate this participation qualitatively.<br />

This study was conducted within Sport training with children and youth, and has the<br />

following objectives: 1º to evaluate the influence of chronological age in the opportunities<br />

available for young participation in sports, specifically in Football, 2nd to know the coaches<br />

mind in the organization and tables of activities for children and young people in Football,<br />

3rd to evaluate the time <strong>de</strong>dicated to the sport practice by young people and the<br />

relationship between the number of training sessions and competitions.<br />

For this study we chose a qualitative methodology by applying a questionnaire to the<br />

football coach’s in the Autonomous Region of Ma<strong>de</strong>ira. The sample consists in a total of 52<br />

male coaches of Young Soccer teams from the levels of Kids, Beginners and Young.<br />

With this study we intend to characterize and evaluate young participation in football, as<br />

well un<strong>de</strong>rstanding the coaches thinking in relation to sport participation of young people<br />

and the competitive structure of the competitions.<br />
