Abstract
Aerobic Gymnastics (AG) meets its competitive nature allowing us to contemplate
what are its main characteristics through its potentialities and dynamism concerning Região
Autónoma da Madeira (R.A.M.), National Physical Education Programs and School Sport.
Being this competitive character of great amplitude in main societies, it is of great
importance to let our students know about this discipline that is so rich in means of
development of the young people physical, social and psychological aptitude in which the
physical education has great relevance.
This discipline of gymnastics holds several potentialities to the physical education
school classes, such as support to the gymnastics classes to school sport and to the
competitive gymnastic groups. In order to do so it is necessary to have a good knowledge of
the discipline as well of its rules and popularity concerning R.A.M. in order to facilitate its
practical and theoretical exposition.
