Abstract
This present paper has the purpose of demonstrating the importance that the Integral
Formation, in the school environment, has in students’ eclectic and harmonious
development, and how Physical Education, through its particularities and specificities, can be
a discipline that potentiates this formation, if its teaching is adequate to the students’ needs
and characteristics. To enable this integral formation, it is necessary the existence of an
interrelation between the three Domains: Psychomotor, Cognitive and Socio-Affective, so
that it can be created a balance in the students’ development. However, to make this
possible, the Physical Education teacher’s action in its classes, should take into account not
the sports performance and technical improvement, but the group of transformations that
you want to provoke on the students, with the intention that these evolve and that they gain
a set of knowledge and skills that go beyond physical and motor capabilities, extending
throughout their lives, personally and professionally. Thus, Physical Education should serve
as an instrument that potentiates the students’ integral formation, and should be harnessed
its unique characteristics, which means that teachers should guide all the process of
teaching-learning accordingly.
