Abstract:
Although our country has a great tradition in the sports of skates, and more specifically in
rink-hockey, skating in school is not always practiced and when it is, not always the best way.
There are several reasons for this. However, those that stand out most, is the idea still
prevails that the skates will scratch the floor, or for many teachers indicate that the school
has no space to practice this sport.
As a solution to these two problems, Lopes (2000) states that the current skates have wheels
made of rubber, not wood or iron as before, leaving no increased risks in the floor. About
that there is no space in schools, Is something that makes no sense because, as said Batista
(2002), skating at an early stage can be practiced in a classroom since they removed the
chairs and tables.
At operational level, the methodological instruction of skating in school should be careful,
attaining by the students mastery of skates without imminent danger of falling.
