Abstract:<br />

This article makes a review of the literature from theoretical concepts of teaching in the area<br />

of Physical Education. With the purpose to give some tools of educational intervention to<br />

the teachers that might make their lessons more effective, we present the mo<strong>de</strong>ls of<br />

traditional and ecological education, including its advantages and disadvantages. We´ll<br />

launch the challenge to reflect on the mo<strong>de</strong>l(s) that best fit the approach of those classes, in<br />

or<strong>de</strong>r to <strong>de</strong>velop the cognitive, psychomotor, affective and social domains in collectives<br />

sports games. Through conditioned games, reduced and/or play situations, the classes may<br />

be more attractive to stu<strong>de</strong>nts by increasing further their levels of learning in all areas in<br />

which teachers are willing to intervene, reaching perhaps a level of sport practice more<br />

exciting and motivating for stu<strong>de</strong>nts. This issue arises from the need to un<strong>de</strong>rstand the<br />

importance of having a consistency between tasks/challenges offered to stu<strong>de</strong>nts in class<br />

and the salient features that arise from the reality of the game, instead of the teachinglearning<br />

analytical aspects, focusing on individual technique, where the performance of the<br />

group is seen as merely the sum of those individual performances.<br />
