The son <strong>of</strong> actress Arlette Thomas (b. 1927), he made<br />

his stage debut in the Club Méditerranée with his<br />

younger brother Pierre. He created with him a comedy<br />

tandem that spent the 1970s on radio and in music<br />

halls before entering fi lms in a movie he co-directed<br />

with Pierre Jolivet and Claude Barrois. After 1980, he<br />

wrote and performed many one-man shows. He appeared<br />

as an actor only in the following fi lms: 1984 La<br />

Voix de son Maître ou deux Jours dans la vie de Monsieur<br />

The son <strong>of</strong> actress Arlette Thomas, he made his<br />

debut behind the camera at age fi ve (1958 Le Désert<br />

de Pigalle / L’inferno di Pigalle / UK: A Priest in Pigalle,<br />

Léo Joannon, France / Italy). He and his elder brother<br />

Marc were Club Méditerranée entertainers for four<br />

years before creating a successful comedy team.<br />

After their separation and despite two leading roles<br />

in Luc Besson’s fi rst directing efforts (1981 L’Avant-<br />
