A stage and fi lm actress (about sixty fi lms from 1979<br />

Très insuffi sant, Hervé Bérard, to 2007 L’Inconnue de<br />

Deauville, Sophie Marceau), she has directed only one<br />

feature fi lm.<br />

A former student at the Ecole Supérieure des Beaux-<br />

Arts, she is a journalist (reporter for Radio France, FIP,<br />

and Europe 2 and host <strong>of</strong> two TV programs dedicated<br />

to cinema: Ciné-Furax and Cajou), an actress trained at<br />

the Cours Simon and Florent who occasionally appeared<br />

in fi lms (1996 Le Secret de Polichinelle, Franck<br />

Landron), and a fi lmmaker.<br />

DUTILLEUX, JEAN-PIERRE (October 13, 1949,<br />

Eindhoven, Netherlands–)<br />

After completing his secondary studies in the Latin<br />

and Greek departments at Saint Hadelin College in<br />

Liege, he studied law at the University <strong>of</strong> Louvain.<br />

While still an adolescent, he traveled throughout<br />

North and South America, awakening his interest<br />

in native Indians. He entered fi lms in 1972 as an assistant<br />

to producer Jacques Perrin on the fi lm Etat<br />

de Siège / L’Amerikano / Der unsichtbare Aufstand /<br />

UK and USA: State <strong>of</strong> Siege (Costa-Gavras, France /<br />

Italy / West Germany). Then he moved to Amazonia,<br />

where he began shooting documentaries on Brazilian<br />

Indians. His fi rst movie, Academy Award–nominated<br />

Raoni, was narrated by Marlon Brando. Also a photographer,<br />

he published several books (1989 L’Indien<br />

blanc, co-author with Lorris Murail, Editions Robert<br />

Laffont; Amazonie, Lutte pour la Vie, co-author with<br />

Sting, Editions Jean-Claude Lattès; 2000 Raoni et le
