Having graduated with a bachelor’s degree in economic<br />

science, he learned his craft watching four or<br />

fi ve movies a day at the <strong>French</strong> Cinémathèque. A fi lm<br />

director since 1970, he also played in a movie (1975<br />

Allégorie, Christian Paureilhe) and co-wrote several<br />

features (1986 Les Longs Manteaux / Expreso a la<br />

emboscada / Los largos abrigos, José Giovanni, France<br />

/ Argentina; 1996 Les Caprices d’un Fleuve, collaboration<br />

only; 1997 Tenue de Soirée, Philippe Lioret; 2004<br />

Serko, Joël Farges). In 1978–1979, he directed reports<br />

his comic strips for fi ve years. He worked as a title<br />

François Dion), played a few parts in fi lms (1973 L’An<br />

01, Jacques Doillon, Alain Resnais, Jean Rouch; 1984 Pinot<br />
