an apprentice joiner. In the early 1990s, he began writing<br />

novels and short stories. He entered fi lms as an<br />

assistant unit manager (1987 Sécurité publique, Gabriel<br />

Benattar) and was briefl y an assistant director (1991<br />

Atlantis / Atlantis—Le creature del mare, documentary,<br />

Luc Besson, France / Italy). He co-adapted one <strong>of</strong> his<br />

novels (1999 Un Pur Moment de Rock ’N Roll, Manuel<br />

Boursinhac) and played in a short (2003 La Vie de<br />

Garçon, Marie Garel-Weiss).<br />

A former actor, dramatic arts teacher, and journalist,<br />

he joined Gaumont as a screenwriter in 1910. He<br />

wrote two Jacques Feyder movies, both released in<br />

1916: L’Instinct est maître (three parts) and Têtes de<br />

Femmes, Femmes de Têtes.<br />
