He studied business at the Ecole Supérieure de<br />

Commerce de Paris (ESCP, 1974) and graduated in<br />

economics from La Sorbonne in 1975. He taught<br />

economics, management, and psychosociology while<br />

directing his fi rst shorts. From 1981 to 1997, he ran<br />

his own production company, AAPA, which fi nanced<br />

his movies and a few shorts directed by Marc Adjadj<br />

(1985 Pour quelques je t’aime de plus) and Lionel Delplanque<br />

(1994 Le Ticket; 1995 Les Lustrales).<br />

with a bachelor’s degree in the history <strong>of</strong> art from<br />

La Sorbonne. In 1991, he was an assistant to photographer<br />

Suzanne Lafont before switching to cinema.<br />

He also appeared in a medium-length documentary<br />

(1995 Fragments d’Amour à Vingt-Huit Ans, Sylvie Ballyot,<br />

Béatrice Kordon).<br />
