a bachelor’s degree in art and communication from
the American University, Washington, D.C. (visual
department), and a master of arts in cinema studies
from New York University. Having returned to
France, she started out as a trainee assistant director
(1988 Bille en Tête, Carlo Cotti). From 1986 to 1991,
she served as a second assistant director on feature
