and also worked as a translator for the movie magazine<br />

Having graduated with bachelor’s degrees in mathematics<br />

and psychology, he studied Chinese. He<br />

taught for two years in China (1978–1979) and then<br />

directed several shorts. A member <strong>of</strong> the “Casa<br />

Velazquez” in Madrid from 1984 to 1986, he shot<br />

three medium-length fi lms there. Since 1979, most<br />

<strong>of</strong> his fi lms (fi ction and documentaries) have been<br />

fi lmed in Asia. He co-founded the A.C.I.D. (Agence du<br />

Cinéma Indépendant pour sa Diffusion / Independent<br />

Cinema Agency for Its Release).<br />
