A tamer, a horsewoman, and an acrobatic dancer, she<br />

was fi lmmaker Jean Durand’s wife and a member <strong>of</strong><br />

the Pouics, a group <strong>of</strong> actors who played in her husband’s<br />

fi lms. From 1910 (Le Rembrandt de la Rue Lepic,<br />

Jean Durand) to 1928 (L’Île d’Amour / Bicchi, Berthe<br />

Dagmar, Jean Durand), she co-starred in more than<br />

fi fty shorts, mostly comic fl icks and westerns.<br />

In 1955 he was a volunteer in the marines at the<br />

beginning <strong>of</strong> the Algerian War. A former actor (1966<br />

Espions à l’Affût / La Chaleur de Minuit / USA: Where<br />

the Action Is / Heat <strong>of</strong> Midnight, Max Pécas), he directed<br />

several fi lms that were commercial failures. In<br />

December 1971, in order to refl oat his production<br />

company, La Dague <strong>Film</strong>s, he organized and failed in<br />

a bank robbery attempt for which he spent several<br />

years in jail. His prison experience inspired him to<br />

write a book, Le Dénommé (Editions Olivier Orban,<br />

1982), which he brought to the screen in 1988. Other<br />

Having graduated with a diploma in plastic expression<br />

from the Ecole d’Art de Marseille, where he studied<br />

from 1986 to 1991, he exhibited his paintings in<br />

various galleries. At the same time, he began shooting<br />

shorts. Then he signed a contract with Bandits Productions,<br />

for which he shot video clips.<br />
