A pupil <strong>of</strong> Raymond Gérôme at the Vieux Colombier<br />

acting school, he directed two <strong>of</strong> Norodom Sihanouk’s<br />

plays in Cambodia and taught dramatic art in<br />

France and in his native country. He entered fi lms as<br />

an assistant director to Pierre Schoendoerffer (1965<br />

After studying cinema at New York University, he<br />

worked as screenplay reader for Warner Bros. in Los<br />

Angeles. Back in France, he interviewed many fi lm directors<br />

and published criticism in the magazine Studio<br />

for seven years. He directed his fi rst movie, a short,<br />

in 1999 and co-wrote two feature fi lms (2004 Le plus<br />

beau Jour de ma Vie, Julie Lipinski; 2006 Prête-moi ta<br />

Main, Eric Lartigau) and a few TV movies (2002 Ton<br />
