After studying at the Conservatoire National des<br />

Arts et Métiers and receiving diplomas in superior<br />

mathematics and physical science, he worked as a<br />

high school teacher until 1992. A fi lm director since<br />

1986, he is also a producer and photographer who<br />

shot his movies in his native region.<br />

Loiret, France–)<br />

He started as a journalist, publishing articles (sometimes<br />

on fi lmmakers) in various magazines (Lui; Candide;<br />

Elle; Réalités). Producer and director Claude Berri<br />

found some interest in his work and advised him to<br />

write screenplays. The result was his fi rst short (Le<br />

Poème de l’Elève Mikovski). He appeared as an actor in<br />

two fi lms (1996 Beaumarchais l’Insolent / USA: Beaumarchais<br />

the Scoundrel, Edouard Molinaro; L’Educatrice,<br />

Pascal Kané, shot in 1994) and was a technical adviser<br />

to Jean Odoutan (Barbecue-Pejo, Benin / France).<br />
