AMAT, JORGE (Jorge Melchor / 1949, Paris, France–)
The son of Spanish Republican who took refuge in
France in 1939, he is a bachelor of cinema and plastic
arts. Some of his teachers were directors (Jean Douchet,
Jacques Rivette, Jean Painlevé). In 1973, he was an assistant
director to Fernando Arrabal’s J’irai comme un Cheval
fou / USA: I Will Go Like a Wild Horse / I Will Walk Like
a Crazy Horse and played a small part in the fi lm.

AMÉRIS, JEAN-PIERRE (July 26, 1961, Lyon,
Rhône, France–)
He had already shot three shorts in Lyon before
moving to Paris and getting into IDHEC fi lm school
in 1984. In order to earn his living in his native town,
he had temped while he fi lmed his fi rst movies. Having
graduated in 1987, he directed three other shorts,
including Intérim, that won the Great Prize of the
Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival.
