An architecture drawer for ten years, he took time<br />

to collaborate as an assistant director, assistant cameraman,<br />

or regisseur on several shorts and mediumlengths.<br />

In 1992, with directors Christophe Blanc<br />

and Martine Robert, he created a fi lm company (Les<br />

<strong>Film</strong>s du Fleuve). They produced two shorts and four<br />

medium-lengths in four years. He also worked as a<br />

production manager for two other companies, Altamira<br />

Mondino, who directed clips and commercials. He<br />

co-wrote and co-directed his fi rst movie with Lisa<br />

Azuelos, to whom he was married at the time. He<br />

also collaborated on the writing <strong>of</strong> the screenplay <strong>of</strong><br />

Une Femme rêvée, Miguel Courtois) and played in Lisa<br />

Azuelos’s short Ti amo (2002).<br />

ALI, CHRISTOPHE (December 30, 1971, Gennevilliers,<br />

They met in a video workshop in cinema Jean Vigo<br />

<strong>of</strong> Genevilliers. Having graduated from the University<br />

<strong>of</strong> Paris VIII with a master’s degree in cinema, they<br />

already had directed a few amateur video shorts<br />

and earned a living as projectionists. In 1994, the<br />

experimental video they shot, O, was awarded with<br />

the Prize “Jeune Créateur” (Young Creator) by the<br />

TV magazine Télérama. They shot their fi rst feature in<br />

a very artisanal way.<br />
