After completing his studies in journalism and law<br />

in Paris, in 1987 he created his fi rst production<br />

company, Tribulations, which fi nanced documentaries<br />

for European television. In 1995, he co-founded with<br />

Denis Poncet a new society, Maha Productions. His<br />

movie Un Coupable idéal earned him a Hollywood<br />

Academy Award for best documentary in 2002.<br />

2004 Le Cinéma de Jean Giono). His wife, Catherine<br />

Leterrier, is a costume designer. Their son, Louis Leterrier,<br />
