After entering in fi lms as an actor in a short (Au Bout<br />

de la Nuit la Liberté, 1995), Kader Ayd co-wrote with<br />

Samy Nacéri his fi rst directing effort in 1997 (Qui paiera<br />

les Dégats?). He met the same year Karim Abbou,<br />

an author for comedians Elie Semoun and Elie Kakou.<br />

They co-directed two feature fi lms.<br />

service in the <strong>French</strong> army’s Cinematographic<br />

Service. He entered fi lms as production assistant and<br />

production manager within Les <strong>Film</strong>s du Kiosque.<br />

A movie buff from her childhood, she fi lmed more<br />

than 200 Super-8 shorts in her teenage years (1971–<br />

1982). She studied arts and cinema at the Sorbonne.<br />

After graduating, she worked in fi lms as trainee and<br />

then assistant editor (1979–1982). In 1997, she created<br />

the fi lm production company Chaz Productions.<br />
