LE ROCH, ERIC (September 5, 1968, Paris, France–)<br />

After earning a diploma in chemistry, he wrote<br />

sketches and plays (1995 L’Envol des Mammouths;<br />

1998 Le Bagout des Poux). He made his screen acting<br />

debut in Le Bal des Casse-Pieds (Yves Robert, 1992)<br />

and played supporting roles in a few fi lms and TV<br />

series. Besides his own movies, he co-wrote a short,<br />

Le Fauteuil magique (André Valardy, 1992).<br />

LE SOMPTIER, RENÉ (November 12, 1884, Caen,<br />

Calvados, France–September 23, 1950, Paris, France)<br />

The son <strong>of</strong> antique dealers, he studied law before<br />

publishing articles in L’Action Française and L’Oeuvre<br />

(1906). A high school friend <strong>of</strong> his who had founded<br />

a fi lm company (Cosmograph) allowed him to direct<br />

his fi rst movie, Poum à la Chasse, in which starred his<br />

father. After the end <strong>of</strong> World War I, he also wrote<br />

a few plays.<br />
