A press journalist, he entered ORTF (<strong>French</strong> TV) in<br />

1964. Four years later, he created his own production<br />

company that fi nanced the shorts, commercials, and<br />

industrial fi lms he directed. In 1976, he founded a<br />

second society and fi lmed four feature fi lms. He is the<br />

founder and manager <strong>of</strong> a local channel, Canal 32.<br />

After his secondary studies, he enrolled in art school<br />

and then founded a lithography workshop. After marrying<br />

musician Pierre Schaeffer’s daughter, he worked<br />

with his father-in-law in the research department at<br />

ORTF (<strong>French</strong> TV at the time). He created a production<br />

company, La Chesnaie <strong>Film</strong>s. Also an occasional<br />

fi lm editor (1969 Carmen: De Herbert Von Karajan,<br />

documentary, François Reichenbach; 1971 Medicine<br />

Ball Caravan / UK: We Have Come for Your Daughters,<br />

documentary, François Reichenbach, France / USA),<br />

he directed mostly documentaries. He died in a road<br />
