Having graduated with a master’s degree in cinema,<br />

he taught <strong>French</strong> in a Scottish high school for girls<br />

and in a university in Louisiana. After being fi red<br />

from his job, he settled in New Orleans, where he<br />

worked as a building contractor for seven years.<br />

Then he moved to New York, earning a living as a<br />

driver for the Manhattan <strong>of</strong>fi ce <strong>of</strong> <strong>French</strong> TV channel<br />

Antenne 2. He was successively a sound engineer for<br />

the TV newsmagazine Nightlife, production trainee<br />

for cinema, perchman in Hollywood, electrician, assistant<br />

camera operator, location manager, location<br />
