After studying at the Cinematographic University<br />

<strong>of</strong> Milan, he directed about twenty industrial fi lms<br />

(1987–1990). He had already made his fi lm debut<br />

as an actor (1982 Qu’est-ce qu’on attend pour être<br />

heureux!, Coline Serreau). In 1990, he fi lmed his fi rst<br />

short. Other credits (as co-screenwriter): 1997 Mer<br />

calme . . . Mort agitée (TV, Charles Nemes); 1999 Un<br />

Jeudi en Hiver (short, Anne Flandrin); 2003 Livraison à<br />

Born to a <strong>French</strong> father and a Spanish mother, he<br />

graduated with a master’s degree in philosophy. He<br />

briefl y was a teacher and worked for radio. From<br />

1982 to 1986, he earned a living as a fashion photographer<br />

for several magazines before becoming<br />

reporter and cameraman for the Sygma press agency.<br />

In 1990, he co-created Tetra Media, a production<br />

company founded by cinema pr<strong>of</strong>essionals. He fi -<br />

nanced fi lms (1994 Killer Kid / US DVD: The Boy from<br />

documentaries), he shot a poorly released feature
