The son of an engineer and teacher father, he studied
literature and published his fi rst novel in 1949 (Martinique,
Gallimard). He authored a book about the
shooting of Henri-Georges Clouzot’s Les Espions / Le
spie / UK and USA: The Spies (1957 Le Premier Spectateur,
Editions Gallimard) and occasionally wrote for
fi lms (1961 Vingt Mille Lieues sur la Terre / Leon Garros
