mugliera, doie figlie e ’a casa aperta (<strong>la</strong> moglie, due figlie e <strong>la</strong> casa aperta). ’A povera criatura ‘mbraccio ’o pate (in braccio al padre) alluccava p’ ’a paura ’e carè (stril<strong>la</strong>va per <strong>la</strong> paura di ca<strong>de</strong>re), pecché ’o cavaliere se menava pe ’e sca<strong>le</strong> ( si gettava per <strong>le</strong> sca<strong>le</strong>) accussì ’e pressa (così in fretta) ca si se vuttava int’ ’a tromba d’ ’e sca<strong>le</strong> (che se si gettava nel<strong>la</strong> tromba <strong>de</strong>l<strong>le</strong> sca<strong>le</strong>) nun puteva arrivà primma, bascio ‘o purtone (non poteva arrivare prima giù al portone). E difatti arrivava tra i primi pure se stava all’ultimo piano 1 . Il ne s’agit pas toujours <strong>de</strong> souligner, par l’emploi du dia<strong>le</strong>cte, une fonction tragique ; <strong>le</strong> comique se prête tout particulièrement à être rendu en napolitain. C’est <strong>le</strong> cas du duo comique entre Emanue<strong>le</strong> et Oliviero qui fustige avec beaucoup <strong>de</strong> dérision <strong>le</strong> napolitain analphabète qui tente <strong>de</strong> s’exprimer en italien. La confusion <strong>de</strong> l’expression en italien crée <strong>de</strong> nouveaux mots qui engendrent <strong>le</strong> rire. Le procédé est <strong>le</strong> même dans <strong>la</strong> chanson italienne sur <strong>le</strong> Piave, chanson qui perd tout sérieux grâce aux ca<strong>le</strong>mbours, aux itérations homophoniques : « Povero Po… Poveropò… Perepepè » 2 , aux répliques rimées <strong>de</strong> «passo/sasso ; strofa/scrofa ; fatti/ fanti » 3 . Tous ces procédés sont <strong>de</strong>stinés à provoquer chez <strong>le</strong> spectateur un rire moqueur aux frais <strong>de</strong> l’italien. Enfin, <strong>le</strong> dia<strong>le</strong>cte caractérise et fixe, sur <strong>la</strong> page écrite, <strong>la</strong> vie ordinaire à Nap<strong>le</strong>s par ses phrases typiques et habituel<strong>le</strong>s dont <strong>la</strong> spontanéité, <strong>la</strong> verve, l’enthousiasme, l’émotivité traduisent bien <strong>le</strong> caractère <strong>de</strong> ses habitants. Les phrases sont hachées, <strong>le</strong>s mots tronqués, <strong>le</strong>s accents et apostrophes se multiplient. Le napolitain accuse toujours l’effet comique ou dramatique du récit ou <strong>de</strong> <strong>la</strong> situation par <strong>le</strong> jeu <strong>de</strong> <strong>la</strong> « paro<strong>la</strong> inciampata » 4 si chère au théâtre napolitain. Il en résulte un effet d’autodérision déjà noté chez d’autres écrivains napolitains. Erri De Luca est persuadé que cette capacité d’ironiser sur son propre sort, sur <strong>la</strong> vie et <strong>la</strong> mort n’aurait pas été si bien rendue si <strong>le</strong> <strong>texte</strong> avait été entièrement rédigé en italien. 4.2.4 Le dia<strong>le</strong>cte du vicolo Si nous avons re<strong>le</strong>vé quelques mots en dia<strong>le</strong>cte dans Non ora, non qui, Tu, mio et Napòli<strong>de</strong>, nous constatons une multiplication <strong>de</strong> ces termes ainsi qu’un crescendo <strong>de</strong> phrases entières en napolitain, phrases en sty<strong>le</strong> direct, dans <strong>le</strong> <strong>texte</strong> <strong>de</strong> Montedidio. Ce phénomène s’amplifie encore dans Morso di Luna nuova. Nous avons choisi ici <strong>de</strong> re<strong>le</strong>ver tous <strong>le</strong>s mots en dia<strong>le</strong>cte <strong>de</strong> l’ensemb<strong>le</strong> <strong>de</strong>s <strong>texte</strong>s napolitains, Non ora, non qui, Tu, mio, Montedidio, Napòli<strong>de</strong> (à l’exception <strong>de</strong> Morso di luna nuova), et selon une présentation alphabétique : 1 ERRI DE LUCA, Morso di luna nuova, op. cit. , pp. 34-35.
