Recording the Correction Data – CAL Key<br />

The ESIB maintains its high measurement accuracy thanks to its integrated system-error correction<br />

method. The CAL hard key provides a series of correction functions which allow not only the system<br />

error correction of the complete instrument, but also correction functions which are specifically<br />

applicable to the measurement requirements of relevant instrument sections.<br />

The measurement settings of the ESIB are saved and, after system error correction, completely<br />

restored. The correction data valid before system error correction are saved and, in case of a correction<br />

abort, restored.<br />

A window shows the progress of the correction data recording. ABORT can be used to abort the<br />

procedure at any time.<br />

Note:<br />

The term "Calibration" formerly used for integrated system error correction was often taken to be<br />

the "true" calibration of the instrument performed during production and service. It is, therefore,<br />

no longer used although it appears in abbreviated form in the name of keys ("CAL...").<br />
