The dBm, dBµV, dBmV, dBµA, dBpW softkeys set the display units to the<br />

corresponding logarithmic units. The dBm unit is the default unit in analyzer<br />

mode.<br />

The units dBm, dBµV, dBmV, dBµA cannot be selected when the coded<br />

antenna connector or the used transducer defines a unit.<br />

Only for coding dB, the conversion to the desired units is permitted.<br />

The dB*/MHz softkey activates/disactivates the display of results in units<br />

relative to the bandwidth. Those units can be derived from the logarithmic<br />

units dBµV, dBµV/m, dBµA and dBµA/m.<br />

This leads to the following relative units:<br />

dBmV ⇒ dBmV/MHz<br />

dBµV ⇒ dBµV/MHz<br />

dBµV/m ⇒ dBµV/mMHz<br />

dBµA ⇒ dBµA/MHz<br />

dBµA/m ⇒ dBµA/mMHz<br />

Switching over is possible also if a coded antenna connector or a transducer<br />

fixes the unit to be used.<br />

Conversion to 1 MHz is via the pulse bandwidth of the selected resolution<br />

bandwidth B imp according to the following equation (example for dBµV) :<br />

P/(dBV/MHz) 20 log B imp<br />

µ = ⋅ / MHz<br />

+ P/(dBV) µ ,<br />

1MHz<br />

where P = display level<br />

The dBµV/MHz unit can be combined with the following coded connector or<br />

transducer units<br />

dB (the unit dBµV/MHz remains )<br />

µV/m (yields the display unit dBµV/mMHz)<br />

analogous for dBµA/MHz:<br />

dB and µA (the unit dBµA/MHz remains)<br />

Other combinations are not allowed.<br />
