1 Preparing for Operation<br />

Chapter 1 describes the controls and connectors of the <strong>EMI</strong> Test Receiver ESIB by means of the front<br />

and rear view. Then follows all the information that is necessary to put the instrument into operation and<br />

connect it to the AC supply and to external devices.<br />

A more detailed description of the hardware connectors and interfaces can be found in chapter 8.<br />

Chapter 2 provides an introduction into the operation of the ESIB by means of typical examples of<br />

configuration and measurement; for the description of the concept for manual operation and an<br />

overview of menus refer to chapter 3. For a systematic explanation of all menus, functions and<br />

parameters and background information refer to the reference part in chapter 4. For remote control of<br />

the ESIB refer to the general description of the SCPI commands, the instrument model, the status<br />

reporting system, and command description in chapter 5 and 6.<br />
