19. Decommission<strong>in</strong>g<br />

The survey data should be documented <strong>in</strong> a f<strong>in</strong>al survey report and submitted to the<br />

regulatory body. This report should form one of the bases for reuse of the site or for its<br />

release from regulatory control. The report should <strong>in</strong>clude:<br />

(a) criteria used;<br />

(b) methods and procedures to ensure that the criteria were met; and<br />

(c) measurement data, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g appropriate statistical analysis and systematic<br />

approaches used.<br />

The results of the survey should be <strong>in</strong>cluded <strong>in</strong> the f<strong>in</strong>al decommission<strong>in</strong>g report.<br />

≫ MANAGEMENT DURING DECOMMISSIONING ≫<br />

There are a number of areas of management which should receive consideration dur<strong>in</strong>g<br />

decommission<strong>in</strong>g. In particular, they should address the potentially extended time-scales<br />

which could apply to decommission<strong>in</strong>g activities.<br />

These managements are as follows:<br />

Organization and Adm<strong>in</strong>istrative Control<br />

Radiation Protection<br />
