8.5.5. Increase <strong>in</strong> Reactor Coolant Inventory<br />

For a PWR, the <strong>in</strong>itiat<strong>in</strong>g events that can result <strong>in</strong> <strong>in</strong>crease <strong>in</strong> reactor coolant <strong>in</strong>ventory<br />

are as follows:<br />

• Inadvertent operation of the ECCS;<br />

• CVCS malfunction – pressurizer level control system malfunction with loss of<br />

offsite power.<br />

The above two events are all AOOs.<br />
