10. provide actuation or motive power for SC‐1, SC‐2, or SC‐3<br />

equipment;<br />

11. provide <strong>in</strong>formation or controls to ensure capability for<br />

manual or automatic actuation of nuclear safety functions<br />

required of SC‐1, SC‐2, or SC‐3 equipment;<br />

12. supply or process signals or supply power required for<br />

SC‐l, SC‐2, or SC‐3 equipment to perform their required<br />

nuclear safety functions;<br />

13. provide a manual or automatic <strong>in</strong>terlock function to ensure<br />

or ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong> proper performance of nuclear safety functions<br />

required of SC‐l, SC‐2, or SC‐3 equipment;<br />

14. provide an acceptable environment for SC‐1, SC‐2, or<br />

SC‐3 equipment and operat<strong>in</strong>g personnel; or<br />

15. provide for functions def<strong>in</strong>ed <strong>in</strong> SC‐2 where equipment, or<br />

portions thereof, is not with<strong>in</strong> the scope of the code for<br />

design and manufacture of pressure vessel<br />

(KEPIC MN(nuclear mechanical) <strong>in</strong> accordance with the<br />

Notice of MEST No.2008‐14, and its correspond<strong>in</strong>g code<br />

(ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III).<br />

Equipment not <strong>in</strong>cluded <strong>in</strong> SC‐1, SC‐2, or SC‐3 prescribed <strong>in</strong><br />

Articles 5, 6 and 7 and is designed to accomplish the<br />

follow<strong>in</strong>g functions that:<br />

1. process, extract, encase, or store radioactive waste;<br />

2. provide cleanup of radioactive material from the reactor<br />

coolant system or the fuel storage cool<strong>in</strong>g system for<br />

normal operations;<br />

3. extract radioactive waste from, store, or transport for reuse<br />

irradiated neutron absorb<strong>in</strong>g materials (e.g. boron<br />

compounds);<br />

4. monitor radioactive effluents to ensure that release rates or<br />
