≫ COMPLETION OF DECOMMISSIONING ≫<br />

On completion of decommission<strong>in</strong>g, appropriate records should be reta<strong>in</strong>ed. In<br />

accordance with the national legal framework, these will be held and ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong>ed for<br />

purposes such as confirmation of completion of decommission<strong>in</strong>g activities <strong>in</strong> accordance<br />

with the approved plan, record<strong>in</strong>g the disposal of wastes, materials and premises, and<br />

respond<strong>in</strong>g to possible liability claims. The records to be assembled should be<br />

commensurate with the complexity of the <strong>in</strong>stallation be<strong>in</strong>g decommissioned and the<br />

associated hazard potential.<br />

A f<strong>in</strong>al decommission<strong>in</strong>g report should be prepared, susta<strong>in</strong>ed by the records assembled.<br />

This report provides confirmation of the completion of decommission<strong>in</strong>g. Any rema<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g<br />

restrictions on the site should be registered as required by national regulations.<br />

For the evaluation of potential radiological consequences associated with the site after its<br />
