Reports of tests, calibrations and <strong>in</strong>spections; evaluation of results and corrective<br />

actions;<br />

Surveillance procedures;<br />

Records of completed surveillance;<br />

Reports of relevant reviews and audits; and<br />

Checklists for system and component status.<br />

These documents are used as a basis for reviews carried out to:<br />

Demonstrate compliance with operational limits and conditions; and<br />

Detect trends <strong>in</strong>dicat<strong>in</strong>g system or component deterioration.<br />

12.3. IN‐SERICE INSPECTION<br />

12.3.1. Development of <strong>in</strong>‐service <strong>in</strong>spection programme<br />

Dur<strong>in</strong>g the operat<strong>in</strong>g life of a nuclear power plant, components might be exposed to<br />

<strong>in</strong>fluences whose s<strong>in</strong>gle and comb<strong>in</strong>ed effects cannot be predicted for the operat<strong>in</strong>g life of<br />

the plant with the accuracy desirable for nuclear safety. The most important <strong>in</strong>fluences are<br />

stress, temperature, irradiation, hydrogen absorption, corrosive attack, vibration and<br />

frett<strong>in</strong>g, all of which depend upon time and operat<strong>in</strong>g history. These <strong>in</strong>fluences may result
