SokolovDirector of Russian State Historical Archive – MoscowThe organization of storage of the archival materials in Russia is carriedout by the federal, state and municipal archives and other institutions, whichkeep documents in legislatively set procedure.The major national archives of the state are 15 federal archives wherethe documents on history of the Russian state system and internationalrelations are concentrated.The basic keepers of documents on history of Romania are the RussianState Archive of Ancient Acts (RGADA), Russian State Historical Archive(RGIA), State Archive of Russian Federation (GARF), Russian StateArchive of Social-Politic History (RGASPI), Russian State Archive ofNavy (RGAVMF), Russian State Military Historical Archive (RGVIA) andDepartmental Archive of Foreign Policy of Ministry of Foreign Affairs.In RGADA there are materials of institutions of higher, central andlocal management of the Russian state from XI th century to administrativereforms of the end of XVIII th – beginning of XIX th century, collection of theforeign manuscripts, old-printed and rare editions of XV th -XIX th centuries.In this archive there are deeds of Moldavian and Wallachian rulers, boyarsand clergy given to the Russian tsars and patriarchs (1624-1714), includingdeeds about acceptance of Moldavia and Wallachia in Russian citizenshipand about a help against Turkey (1654-1684); about sending of iconpainters and typographic inventory (1679); about situation in Turkey andabout mediation between Russia and Turkey (1690).GARF keeps the documents of higher government bodies and stategovernment of Soviet Union from October revolution to 1991 year, exceptdocuments which are kept in the specialized archives of federal level and
