About “The Notes of the Yanychar” 595describes the battle after which Vlad had to retreat, fled to Hungary, hopingto find refuge at King Matias’s court. However, Matias ordered to imprisonVlad in punishment for his cruelty. The sultan, in his turn, entrusted thelands to the younger brother and left.Having taken all the towns and besieged all the fortresses, the sultanmarched on Andrianopole, from where he sent his envoys to King Matiasin Hungary to agree on armistice since he considered this ruler to be themost plausible source of danger. After that he turned his forces againstthe Albanian prince, occupying one town after another. No voivode butSkandberg offered him violent resistance. He served as a janychar for sultanMurad, went deep into all affairs at the sultan’s court just to be able toreturn to his homeland having secured the sultan’s benevolence. Therefore, when the sultan offered him to choose a voivodeship (lands to rule over) heasked for the Ivanov land, concealing from the sultan the truth of his origin. This great warrior of Albany, the famous Skandberg who was the first torise against the Turkish troops, became the national hero of Albany and washonoured with a monument in the very heart of Tirana. Thus, “The Notes…” reveals itself to be both a historical account, and memoirs, papers of opinion journalism, as well as the reflection of theSerbian and Turkish epics and folklore. This makes it virtually impossibleto classify the book as belonging to a particular genre. “The Notes…” byKonstantin is one of the literary creations devoted to the Turkish issues, which began to increase in number in the 15 th century.ReferencesHysi, Sh. 2004, Mision Bektashian (Teqeja e Zallit).
