Special attentionshould be paid to those fields of science, which by virtue of their particularityare not within reach of not only specialists, but also of the interested public.One of such fields is Mongolian studies as a whole and some themes, forexample Russian-Mongolian relations in particular. There is no need toexplain the specialists, that the theme of the relations between Russia andMongolia has got new sounding in the last 15-20 years. And what to sayabout that interest to modern Mongolia in general which has notably grownin the world.Regular contacts between Russia and Mongolia in political, economic,cultural, educational, military and other spheres started developing in themiddle of the 19 th century. In the 20th century Russian-Mongolian relationsstepped on a new level, which was supported with a solid legal base. A lotof documents concerning Russian-Mongolian relations till 1921, as well asSoviet-Mongolian relations in 1921-1991, have been published, however agreat number of archival documents and materials concerning this theme,has not been put into the wide scientific circulation yet.1The research was realized within the framework of the Program “Historicaland Cultural Heritage and Spiritual Values of Russia” of the Brunch of Historical andPhilological Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
