Documents concerning the history of Romania... 189Thus, archives of Russian Federation keep rich and various materialson history of Romania.But most fully it is represented in the Russian state historical archive.Russian State Historical Archive is one of the largest archive in Europe.On shelves, which are 2<strong>20</strong> km long, there are more than 6.5 million archivalfiles. History of Russia, international relations, wars, economy, science,culture, education, art, literatures and other great deal are reflected in thedocuments of archive.The funds of higher and central governmental bodies, legislativesbodies of Russian empire from XVIII th century till 1917, and also publicorganizations, institutions and private persons of pre-revolutionary Russiaand many other are concentrated in RGIA.RGIA keeps materials, reflecting the basic stages and factors,promoting forming of the Romanian state, documents, deal with Russian-Turkish and East (Crimean) wars, national liberation fight on Balkans andin the Austria-Hungarian empire, relation of the European countries, Russiaand Turkey, international conferences and conferences on the Romanianquestion and formation of Romania. First World War, disintegration ofthe Austria-Hungarian empire and joining of Transylvania to Romania,relations between Russia and Romania in XIX th –XX th centuries also foundthe reflection in the archival documents.The earliest documents are dated 1711 year. For example, notificationabout arrival of general Field-Marshal Sheremetev to Iasi, about meeting,arranged to him by wallachian princes, and conclusion of alliance withhim against Turks, and tsar’s decree from September, 28 of that year aboutfinding of two houses in Moscow and in country for prince Kantemir.It should be noted that plenty of emperor’s decrees is kept in RGIA.It is a decree of Peter I from 1721 – about granting to prince DmitryKantemir one of the highest ranks on the table of ranks – secret adviserand assignment him as a senator; decrees of empress Catherine II (1765,1770) – about consideration in Office of guardianship of foreign petitionsfrom Iasi ‟from the Moldavian people” and about granting and rewardingof the sent Moldavian deputies with golden medals and money on the travelexpenses; decrees of Cabinet of Her Highest Majesty – about assignmentof money on gifts to the princes, and about determination of sons of princeGhica G.A. and Moldavian noble Milo, due to Cabinet, in the Cadet corps,about setting of salary to the dignitaries of wallachian ruler, who were inthe capital, and granting a boarding-school to his doctor of medicine, Luka.The further decrees of the Russian emperors were directed onestablishment of consular and diplomatic relations in Moldavia, Wallachia,
