GrigorieŢamblac (cca. 1367, Tîrnovo – 1419, Kiev), Eftimie’s apprentice, says thathe was a Vlach from somewhere near Adrianople. 8Nicodim introduces the art of copying old texts, after the rules of theHoly Mountain (Mount Athos). He himself did the calligraphy and theminiature of a Four Gospels on parchment, Tetraevangelion in ecclesiasticalSlavic language – the oldest book dated in Wallachia. Acording to N.Iorga 11 and Ioan Neniţescu 12 , Moloviţa(Mulovişte) in Macedonia, the birthplace of Meletie, was inhabited only byVlachs at the end of the 16 th century.The Charter of Matei Basarab Voivode from the 6 th of January 1634 isreproduced in the “The old Romanian Bibliography”, given to the GovoraMonastery on occasion of its typography inauguration, charter which tellsus about his appointment as Father Superior of the monastery.
