826 Ion ConstantinU.S.S.R., following Lenin’s politics, did not want to interfere in the domesticaffairs of other countries with a popular democracy. Stating the principlesfrom the Tass agency handout, Onisifor Ghibu requested in his memoir tothe Soviet leaders “in the name of the Romanian people from the entireterritory inhabited by them, in the name of the immanent justice and in thename of true friendship which must be created from now on between theRomanian people and the Russian one… that, in your measures regardingthe elimination of all barricades that stand in the way of peace betweenpeople of the whole world, do not stop at the simple formula announcedin today’s handout, but, like true Marxists- Leninists, act in these terriblemoments caused by the ex dictator Joseph Besarionis Stalin, for the radicalelimination of all contrasts and monstrous anomalies created by the politicsof this daring forger of Marxism-Leninism and author of the today’s hugetragedy of Russia and of mankind” 5 . Hereinafter Ghibu brought in discussionLenin’s declaration from 26 th of October 1917 regarding peoples’ selfdeterminationshowing that “this programmatic, principal and fundamentaldeclaration of the first Soviet government sacredly joins all communistgovernments which stand upon the basis of Lenin’s authentic ideology.And it is equally clear that on the strength of this declaration Lenin’sRussia cancelled “without reservations” the annexation of Basarabia bythe Russian czar and that Stalin’s occupation of North Bucovina and of40 villages from Romania itself, in Northern Moldavia, is a clamant actof conquest and oppression” 6 . In relation with this declaration he evokedthat “to the great affliction of humanity, Lenin’s politics was torpedoedstep by step by I.V. Stalin leading to the complications from the past fewdays that inevitably brought back to what happened lately in Warsaw andBudapest – absolute preface to what will come next everywhere, wherehis wrath devastated and forced along the years and decades” 7 . After hespoke about the declarations held by Karl Marx, later evoked by Lenin,too, according to which “Russia is the possessor of an enormous stolenproperty ( that is ridden), that in the time of reckoning she will have togive it back” 8 , Onisifor Ghibu was asking rhetorically in the end of hisletter: “What if you, Russia’s leaders of today forced to withdraw from5Onisifor Ghibu 1993.
