The Sufi rituals and traditions in the work by the Sudanese author... 589In conclusion, I would like to say that the text by Ibn Daifallah is aunique source for the studies of the Sudanese traditions and rituals of the17 th -18 th centuries. We can follow the local Sudanese custom of transferringpower inside the Sufi brotherhood, which most probably was influencedby the early Nubian and African traditions. At the same time, the Sudaneseburial ritual of turning graves into the places of pilgrimage and worship iscommon to all Muslim countries and the regions of Islamic influence. Thisis proved by the mausoleums in Magrib, Central Asia and even Siberia andMongolia, where we find the so-called “popular Islam”.BibliographyIBN DAIFALLAH, MUHAMMAD AL-NŪR 1974, Kitāb al-Ţabaqāt fī khuşūşal-Awliyā’ wa’l-Şālihīn wa’l-‘Ulamā’ wa’l-Shu‘arā’ fī al-Sūdān.
