934 DACOROMANICA – THE DOCUMENTATION ACTworks in foreign languages, especially Greek and Latin originating fromheritage collections can be and must be introduced in order to completethe former corpuses. For the Romanian books printed after 1930, theRomanian Modern Bibliography 1830-1918 serves as a guide. The criteriaof territory in digitizing the publications from Romania, regardless thelanguage, considers the borders of the three Romanian medieval provinces,Transylvania, Moldavia, and Walachia, and the borders of Modern Romaniaafter the World War 1 and World War 2.The chronological coverage: a balance between all the historic periodsThe historic evolution has forced us to highlight in two different ways theshare allotted in DACOROMANICA to the 19 th century:• As a period reach in Romanian classic intellectual production;• As a golden age for the criticism of the former centuries,especially of the Middle Age and of the Fanariots’ Epoch.This century marks the debut for the Romanian classics, the beginningof the major documentary collections that include rare texts from archives,and the first major complete editions of an author. DACOROMANICAreflects this scientific movement, that in Romania was especiallyfundamental in the case of history. The 19 th century is the high time forthe systematic dissemination of the sciences and the political ideas bymeans of the journals. This dimension has to be faithfully represented inDACOROMANICA.Our limited resources makes us to think that it will last long until thecollections of the Metropolitan Library of Bucharest, the Library of theRomanian Academy, and from our partners will be entirely accessible inDACOROMANICA.A detailed analyse of the digitised collections structured on domainsleads us the following conclusions:• DACOROMANICA remains in the area of the documentsfree of copyright. Other ways of enriching the digital libraryare by the copyright donations, and by means of new editionspublished by the publishing house of the Metropolitan Libraryof Bucharest.• It is necessary a balance between all historical periods.Taking into account the above conclusions, we focus to complete anddevelop the digitisation of the research sources.• The 19 th century, especially its second half, needs a moreaccurate presentation, especially of the original literature and ofthe Romanian translations, as well as of two domains, historyand politics.
