Narrated by<br />

Allah's Apostle said, "While a man was going on a way, he saw a thorny branch and removed it from the way and Allah<br />

became pleased by his action and forgave him for that." Then the Prophet said, "Five are martyrs: One who dies of plague,<br />

one who dies of an abdominal disease, one who dies of drowning, one who is buried alive (and) dies and one who is killed in<br />

Allah's cause." (The Prophet further said, "If the people knew the reward for pronouncing the Adhan and for standing in the<br />

first row (in the congregational prayer) and found no other way to get it except by drawing lots they would do so, and if they<br />

knew the reward of offering the Zuhr prayer early (in its stated time), they would race for it and they knew the reward for 'Isha'<br />

and Fajr prayers in congregation, they would attend them even if they were to crawl.")<br />

Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: He who revived a Sunnah out of my Sunan, which has died after me, for him is<br />

the reward like the reward of those who acted upon it, without any decrease in that reward. He who introduced some evil<br />

innovation which Allah and His Messenger did not approve has (a burden of sin upon him) like the sins of one who acted<br />

according to it, without their sins being mitigated thereby in the least.<br />

The Reward of Hajj is Paradise<br />

Abu Hurairah says the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "All sins committed in between the performance of one 'Umrah and<br />

another are expiated and erased, and the reward of Hajj Mabrur is nothing save Paradise." (Bukhari and Muslim)<br />

Abu Huraira said, "I heard Allah's Apostle saying, 'The reward of a prayer in congregation is twenty five times greater than<br />

that of a prayer offered by a person alone. The angels of the night and the angels of the day gather at the time of Fajr prayer.'<br />

" Abu Huraira then added, "Recite the Holy Book if you wish, for 'ndeed, the recitation of the Qur'an in the early dawn (Fajr<br />

prayer) is ever witnessed.' " (17.18).<br />

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar: The reward of the congregational prayer is twenty seven times greater (than that of the prayer<br />

offered by a person alone).<br />

Mu'adh ibn Jabal<br />

Narrated by<br />

The Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) said: (The reward of) prayer, fasting and remembrance of Allah is enhanced seven<br />

hundred times over (the reward of) spending in Allah's path.<br />

RIBA:<br />

2:275 - Those who devour usury will not stand except as stands one whom the Evil One by his<br />

touch hath driven to madness. That is because they say: "Trade is like usury but Allah hath<br />

permitted trade and forbidden usury. Those who after receiving direction from their Lord<br />

desist shall be pardoned for the past; their case is for Allah (to judge); but those who repeat<br />

(the offence) are companions of the fire: they will abide therein (for ever). 324325326<br />

324 Usury is condemned and prohibited in the strongest possible terms. There can be no question about the prohibition.<br />

When we come to the definition of Usury there is room for difference of opinion. Hadhrat 'Umar, according to Ibn<br />

Kathir, felt some difficulty in the matter, as the Apostle left this world before the details of the question were settled.<br />

This was one of the three questions on which he wished he had more light from the Prophet. Our 'Ulama, ancient and<br />

modern, have worked out a great body of literature on Usury, based mainly on economic conditions as they existed at<br />

the rise of Islam. (2.275)<br />

325 An apt simile: whereas legitimate trade or industry increases the prosperity and stability of men and nations, a<br />

dependence on Usury would merely encourage a race of idlers, cruel blood-suckers, and worthless fellows who do not<br />

know their own good and are therefore akin to madmen. (2.275)<br />

326 Owing to the fact that interest occupies a central position in modern economic life, and specially since interest is the<br />

very life blood of the existing financial institutions, a number of Muslims have been inclined to interpret it in a manner<br />
