The dearest words to Allah are four: SubhanAllah (Hallowed be Allah), Alhamdulillah (Praise be to Allah), La ilaha illallah<br />

(There is no god but Allah), and AllahuAkbar (God is the Greatest). There is no harm for you in which order you begin (them<br />

while remembering Allah), and he also said: Do not give these names to your servants, Yasar and Rabah and Nafi and Najih.<br />

"O People, lend me an attentive ear, for I don't know whether, after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore<br />

listen to what I am saying to you carefully and take these words to those who could not be present here today.<br />

WORLD:<br />

2:114 - And who is more unjust than he who forbids that in places for the worship of Allah Allah's<br />

name should be celebrated? Whose zeal is (in fact) to ruin them? It was not fitting that such<br />

should themselves enter them except in fear. For them there is nothing but disgrace in this<br />

world and in the world to come an exceeding torment. 117<br />

117 There were actually Pagans in Mecca who tried to shut out the Muslim Arabs from the Ka'ba, the universal place of<br />

Arab worship. The Pagans themselves called it the House of God. With what face could they exclude the Muslims,<br />

who wanted to worship the true God instead of worshipping idols? If these Pagans had succeeded, they would only<br />

have caused violent divisions among the Arabs and destroyed the sanctity and the very existence of the Ka'ba.<br />

2:200 - So when ye have accomplished your holy rites celebrate the praises of Allah as ye used to<br />

celebrate the praises of your fathers yea with far more heart and soul. There are men who<br />

say: "Our Lord! give us (thy bounties) in this world!" but they will have no portion in the<br />

223 After the Pilgrimage, in Pagan times, the pilgrims used to gather in assemblies in which the praises of ancestors were<br />

sung. As the whole of the pilgrimage rites were spiritualised in Islam, so this aftermath of the pilgrimage was also<br />

spiritualised. It was recommended for pilgrims to stay on two or three days after the pilgrimage, but they must use<br />

them in prayer and praise to God. See ii. 203 below. (2.200)<br />

224 If you hasten to get all the good things of the world, and only think of them and pray for them, you would lose the<br />

higher things of the future. The proper Muslim attitude is neither to renounce this would nor to be so engrossed in it<br />

as to forget the spiritual future. (2.200)<br />

2:201 - And there are men who say: "Our Lord! give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter<br />

and defend us from the torment on the fire!"<br />

2:212 - The life of this world is alluring to those who reject faith and they scoff at those who believe.<br />

But the righteous will be above them on the Day of Resurrection; for Allah bestows His<br />

abundance without measures on whom He will. 234<br />

234 God's gifts in this world seem unequal, and sometimes those get them who seem to deserve them least. God's<br />

bounty is unlimited to the just as well as the unjust. In His wisdom He may give to whomsoever He pleases. The<br />

account is not taken now, but will be taken in the end, when the balance will be redressed. (2.212)<br />

6:32 - What is the life of this world but play and amusement? But best is the home in the Hereafter<br />

for those who are righteous. Will ye not then understand? 855<br />

855 Play and amusement are for preparing our minds for the serious things of life: in themselves they are not serious. So<br />

this life is a preparation for the Eternal Home to which we are going, which is far more important than the ephemeral<br />

pleasures which may possibly seduce us in this life. (6.32)<br />
